Frequently asked questions
Does Medler HMS run a hospital with wards and IPD, or only a clinic?
Both. A clinic can run on the Front Desk and Consulting Room alone. A hospital adds the IPD Desk (admissions, bed moves, advances, running and final bills, discharge), the Ward Station for nurses (medicine rounds, vitals, nursing notes, handovers), emergency and casualty, ICU, OT scheduling, the lab, radiology and pharmacy desks, and the Accounts Desk for day closing. Every desk works on the same patient record.
How long does it take to start?
A clinic can start the day it registers: add its doctors, fees and services, and the Front Desk is ready. For a hospital we plan the switch-over with you — wards and beds, tariffs, staff and their roles, and the records you bring from your current software — and stay with your team through the first days.
How does the day's cash get closed?
Each counter collects into its own drawer, by cash, card and UPI. The Accounts Desk shows the whole day on one screen — every counter, refunds and advances — and the cash sent to the bank is checked against the books, so a gap shows up the same day.
Can doctors' revenue share be worked out automatically?
Yes. Each doctor's share is set per service type — consultation, procedure, IPD visit, lab or scan — and every bill line records which doctor it pays. Payout statements list every bill behind the amount.
Does it handle TPA, insurance and PMJAY patients?
Yes. Payer tariffs, pre-authorisation and claim paperwork for TPAs and insurers, PMJAY packages, and corporate panels, with each claim followed from submission to settlement.
Is Medler HMS ABDM compliant?
Medler HMS is built on India's Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission: ABHA creation and linking, the Health Facility Registry (HFR) and Health Professional Registry (HPR), linking a patient's records to their ABHA, and consent-based sharing of health records in FHIR R4.
How is patient data protected?
Medler HMS follows India's Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) Act 2023 and the IT Act 2000 (Section 43A). Sensitive fields are encrypted at rest (AES-256-GCM) and all traffic uses TLS. Every person signs in with their own account and sees only what their role allows, and an audit trail records who opened or changed what.
Can we bring our data from our current software?
Yes. Patients, appointments, bills and receipts can be imported from spreadsheets and from your current software's exports, with old bill and receipt numbers kept so past paperwork still matches.
